Time for a Road Trip
So I've been secretly trying to build the family up for a trip like this. We already have the long car rides down, but I've been trying to build up love of camping trips, hikes, and National Park visits. After talking to Julia about a trip like this for the last 2years, she has given me the green light, and now there is no turning back. It is time for a 2-week Road Trip Vacation. The girls are excited. I am excited, and even Julia admitted this weekend that she is excited.
So what will it look like?
We will travel 3100 miles through at least 6 states:
- Missouri
- Iowa*,
- South Dakota*
- Wyoming*
- Colorado
- Kansas*
- Fairly certain we can also squeeze in Nebraska*
(* = states not traveled to)
We are planning to see 5 National Parks sites:
- Mt. Rushmore
- Badlands
- Yellowstone
- Grand Tetons
- Rocky Mountain.
- BONUS PARKS: Minuteman Missile, Devils Tower, Jewel Cave, Wind Cave
While traveling out west we will be enjoying multiple types of accommodations:
- Tent(5)
- Tent Cabin(2)
- Covered Wagon(1)
- Lodge(2)
- Cabin(1)
- Hotel Rooms(3)
(# of nights)
Quite a bit more to come, but I certainly welcome any thoughts, input or advice that any of you guys can share from your own experience that you can share on a trip like this.
