Bee Tree County Park

On a snowy Saturday morning with the biggest sister off at Girl Scout Camp, the two little girls and I thought it would be good to go out for a quick hike. We looked for something simple and easy and we went south of town to Bee Tree Park. While there are a few wooded trails in the park the girls opted for the gravel trail around the fishing lake. Not the most rugged adventurous hike but enough to burn off some energy. The kids ran and played, and we spied some beaver gnawed tree stumps around the edge of the water. Not much to it for sure, but we had it all to ourselves. Wind blowing off the water quickly brought a chill to ears and fingers, but as it started to get unbearable, we were back to the car.

Of course on the way out of the park and up the hill they begged to play at the park, regardless of how cold they were just moments before. After about 10 minutes of playing they were quickly reminded and it was time to head home. Not much today, but AK fell asleep on the way home, so I considered the day out a success.

Happy Trails!
